£30K Somerset County Gazette Community Cash Giveaway Success for projects in Taunton Deane

Somerset Community Foundation is delighted with the success of the Community Cash Giveaway promoted in partnership with The Somerset County Gazette.  £30K has been awarded to 12 projects; Ashbrittle Arts, Central Taunton Scouts, Eco Youth Group, Four Seasons Playgroup, Friends of St John Rainbow Club, Hamilton Green Amateur Boxing Club, Holway School Community Garden, Taunton & District Beekeepers, Wellington Swords Fencing Club, Wellingtonm Kayak Club, West Hatch Scout Group and North Taunton Community Partnership.

Justin Sargent, Director of Somerset Community Foundation said:

“The Community Cash Giveaway has proved to be a great success. Applications have come in from a wide range of community projects, many that have never applied for funding through The Foundation and are completely new to us. With the help of The Somerset County Gazette we have been able to reach groups who do valuable work in the community and without the publicity provided by the newspaper we might have struggled to make these connections. We would like to thank The County Gazette for their support in promoting the Community Cash Giveaway; this is a wonderful example of what can be achieved through working in partnership for a common goal.”
