Walk For Somerset 2009

Walk for Somerset 2009 provided an opportunity for projects from across the county to take part in a sponsored walk to raise funds for their own group or chosen charity and for Somerset Community Foundation. Those who took part included, Somerset Sight, The Rosie Crane Trust, South West Fishing For Life, Cutcombe Cricket Club, Yeovil MDF Bipolar Self Help Group and staff from Co-op Distribution Centre, Wellington. The total raised for our local communities was over £2300. Two walks took place in September; The Wimbleball Lake Walk was organised in partnership with South West Fishing for Life and the South West Lakes Trust and attracted over 100 walkers on Saturday 19th September. A walk at Ham Hill, South Somerset organised by the Yeovil MDF Bipolar Self Help Group was also very successful... thank you to all who took part.  We hope to build on Walk for Somerset in 2010 and attract more participants across the county.

Please contact Julie Patterson if you would like to help organise a Walk for Somerset in your area. E: Julie.patterson@somersetcf.org.uk  T: 01749 344949
