This fund is now open for applications. The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday 30 September.
The Anne Dodgson Memorial Fund is in memory of Anne Dodgson who, before her untimely death, made many contributions to the promotion of astronomy in Somerset and was instrumental in the founding of the Crewkerne and District Astronomical Society (CADAS).
A limited number of small grants are available from this fund to help people of all ages across Somerset access science education through astronomy, and applications are now invited from community groups and charities. Schools may also apply, via their Parent Teacher Association (or equivalent organisation), but in general we would expect to see a matched contribution towards these projects.
Applications can only be considered for projects benefitting people living in the county of Somerset (ie. Mendip, Sedgemoor, West Somerset, Taunton Deane and South Somerset)
The maximum grant that can be awarded is £500, although we envisage an average grant of around £250. Successful applicants will be required to submit monitoring and evaluation forms at the end of their funded activity.
Applications should be made using our online application form, available by clicking here. The online form enables you to save drafts before submitting. If you prefer a paper copy please contact Jocelyn Blacker on 01749 344949 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
