Increasingly we are using our experience, expertise and local knowledge to help local donors make a difference to the communities and causes that they care most about. We can administer funds on an annual basis (managed funds) or we can invest them (endowment funds) for a longer term benefit. In 2006 we established the Somerset Endowment Fund to provide a more reliable and sustainable source of funds for grant-making far into the future. It is the ideal vehicle for any donor who wishes to make a lasting impact upon the people of Somerset. A new charity, SCF Endowment, has been established to oversee the development and safe stewardship of the fund. Under the Government's Grassroots Grants programme we are currently able to add considerable value to donations to the endowment fund, over and above normal Gift Aid and tax relief. |
