Impey UK set up a Named Fund
Award-winning Impey UK, a local business based in Ilton, is the latest company to set up a Named Fund with the Somerset Community Foundation.

The Impey UK Trust Fund will be used to support community-based projects in Somerset. Invested as part of our Endowment Fund, it will provide long-term support to local communities in the county.

Bruce Grave, the owner and Managing Director of Impey UK, said “As a local business we recognise that it is vitally important to give something back to the community. The problem we faced was finding sufficient time to really think about how we could make a real and lasting difference locally.

“That is why we decided to set up a fund with the Somerset Community Foundation. We felt we would benefit from their local knowledge of the voluntary sector and their experience in directing support to where it is most needed locally. It also means we can free our staff up from having to deal directly with the hundreds of appeals we receive every year.”

Justin Sargent, Director of Somerset Community Foundation, added “We know many local businesses prefer to give to Somerset charities, recognising that their donations can have an immediate and visible impact at the local level. By bringing a ‘community of donors’ together through the Foundation, we can add considerable value to local donations, for example reducing the amount of time each individual company spends wading through hundreds of requests for gifts.”
