A marathon effort!
After hearing about the Somerset Community Foundation at the “Effective Local Philanthropy” seminar last year, Rob Salisbury (pictured right in the photograph) approached us with a view to raising funds for sports-related causes by running the Paris marathon with his colleague Ian Gresham.

Both work for RBS, which has offices in Taunton on the Blackbrook Business Estate. They completed the marathon despite the gruelling temperatures in Paris, after pounding the Taunton pavement for months beforehand.

RBS has a policy of matching funds raised by their staff for charity, which effectively means Rob was able to raise around £2000 for the Foundation.

We would like to thank everyone who sponsored Rob. The monies raised will go towards a sports-related legacy fund and more information will be available on our website soon.
