MIAR (Making Inclusion a Reality)
Grant: ROK Fund, £630
Project: To run an activities scheme

Background: MIAR supports 5 to 13 year olds based in the Yeovil area who are excluded from taking part in mainstream social and recreational opportunities. This exclusion has been as a result of number of factors which often cause complex issues. The group offers regular weekly sessions and an on-going programme of social and leisure activities to help the children develop friendships, build their self-confidence and enjoy new opportunities.

Chris Hyde, Rok’s Yeovil-based regional director:
"As the Nation’s Local Builder Rok is delighted to support this essential Yeovil charity and it’s an excellent example of how we try to ensure that the proceeds from our charity days are used for the benefit of the local community.”
