Project: Volunteer programme

Background: Volunteers help over 500 elderly and disabled clients across the district. Clients are able to stay in their own homes for longer through the services provided such as gardening, garden redesign, home maintenance and a laundry service. This project supports a wide range of individuals who would not be able to afford commercial rates.

“As well as providing a service to our clients, just having us pop round every week provides them with the contact which they would not have had. They are able to feel happy and secure knowing that they can stay in their own homes and not be put into sheltered accommodation.”
