Millfield Students and Somerset Freemasons Support BEANS

Donations from Millfield School and Somerset Freemasons will provide additional support for two children with special needs for one year of their early year’s education. The Millfield Students Fund raised £1124 and  a donation of £300 from Millfield Trust and £500 from Somerset Freemasons made up the total amount which was donated to BEANS (Bridgwater Early years Additional Needs Support). BEANS support children aged 0-7 years with additional needs in the Bridgwater Area

The Millfield Fund is built through fundraising activities and initiatives facilitated by the students’ charity committee throughout the school year.  With the help of Somerset Community Foundation Students are able choose projects to support with their funding.

Sing For Somerset Carol Service

The ‘Sing for Somerset’ Carol Service in Wells Cathedral was a great success, bringing people together from across the county to join the Christmas festivities.  The Carol Service in association with Somerset Life was supported by Bardon Aggregates and The Corporate Group, the retiring collection was in aid of Somerset Community Foundation.

Friends and supporters of Somerset Community Foundation attended a Champagne Reception before the carol service, courtesy of The Swan Hotel whilst others enjoyed dinner in the Bishop’s Palace later in the evening.  Both events were filled to capacity and raised valuable funds to support local projects.
