SCF
receives Quality Accreditation mark
Charities of all sizes and shapes are increasingly under pressure
to demonstrate their effectiveness and governance. The Government’s
watchdog, the Charity Commission, plays an important role in ensuring
that UK charities remain credible and effective. Donors, too, are examining
who they give money to with a more critical eye.
In response, the Community Foundation Network devised a Quality Accreditation
scheme which has been endorsed by the Charity Commission. It covers all aspects
of the Foundation’s work and administration, including grant-making, donor
services, governance and financial management.
Earlier this year we applied to join the scheme and the staff worked hard to
put together the evidence to support our application, and we were very pleased
to recently hear that we have have been awarded the Community Foundation Quality
Mark.
Angela Yeoman, Chairman of SCF, said “It is fantastic to be recognised
in this way. Having established ourselves well over the past 5 years it is great
to see this reflected in this award. We have some exciting plans for the next
phase of the Foundation, and this is an excellent springboard for us to launch
from.”
