The Churchstanton Community Fund has been established with funding from Anesco following the successful installation of the solar panel farm at Culmhead Aerodrome. The fund will support projects that benefit the inhabitants of Churchstanton Parish, in consultation with Churchstanton Parish Council or their nominated representatives. Preference will be given to local charities, voluntary groups and social enterprises based within the parish.
There will be two application windows per year in autumn and spring. Click here to see details of latest grants awarded.
The maximum grant available is £1,000 although average grants are likely to be £500. Normally only one grant per year will be awarded to an organisation.
While the fund is deliberately broad in scope during this round, there are a number of exclusions:
- Promotion of religion (although projects that benefit the community organised by faith-based organisations are eligible.)
- Animal welfare (although projects that use animals to provide benefit to local residents are eligible)
- Activities that are a statutory responsibility or are otherwise not charitable
Applications should normally be made using our online application form available by clicking here. The online form enables you to save drafts before submitting. If you prefer a paper copy please contact our grants team on 01749 344949. We strongly advise you read our general guidelines before applying by clicking here.
Decisions are made by Somerset Community Foundation in close consultation with the Parish Council or their nominated representatives and successful applicants should be informed within one month of applying.
Successful applicants will be required to send monitoring and evaluation forms at the end of their funded activity.
