Our work with Charitable Trusts
We’re delighted to work in partnership with many local and national charitable trusts to support communities in Somerset. Charity Trustees with an interest in supporting Somerset often choose to give through SCF because of our unrivalled knowledge of local charities and in-depth understanding of local need. This means we can expertly direct funds to make the most impact possible and Trustees can trust that funds will be spent well.
We also run the Somerset Funders Forum: a group founded by SCF to foster collaboration and share research, insight and best practice.
How we can work with you.
Co-funding
Many local charitable trusts choose to co-fund with us. This might mean supporting one of our research-driven Collective Giving Funds, or supporting one of our appeals such as Surviving Winter.
Grant-making services
Our expert grant-making team award over £5 million of funding every year through a diverse range of funding programmes. This means we’re very well placed to provide grant-making services for standalone charitable trusts. We can run your funding programmes, or your entire charitable trust for you, depending on your needs.
Charitable Trust Transfer Service
Our Charitable Trust Transfer Service can support Trustees concerned about the long-term viability of their charitable trust. This service offers the opportunity for the trust to become a standalone Fund held by the Foundation, providing a secure future for the charity. This ensures the original objects and wishes of the founder are preserved and that the funds can continue making a difference for generations to come.
