Measuring Somerset’s Vital Signs
In October 2016 Somerset Community Foundation will publish its first Vital Signs report.
Vital Signs are reports that are produced annually by Community Foundations to act as guides to local charitable giving by measuring social trends and issues.
They pull together existing research and combine this with a community consultation, to gain a full picture of the issues in particular regions.
Setting an analysis of need alongside inspirational accounts of how charitable giving is making a difference in our community, our Vital Signs report will act as a unique guide to inform current and future community philanthropy in Somerset.
Over the coming months, we will be gathering statistical information and giving community members a voice in identifying priorities for Somerset. Key to the strength of our report will be a robust research methodology and strong evidence base so we want to make full use of existing knowledge.
If you have collected statistical information or community views about issues in your local community that you are willing to share, please contact Tessa by May 15th, so we can ensure it is included in our data gathering.
We would like to hold a small number of detailed focus groups to discuss some of the themes in more detail. If you would be willing to host a focus group in your community in May or June 2016, please contact us.
