Enterprising solutions
We are delighted to announce the first 'Do It' award from our 'Solutions for an Ageing Society programme in partnership with UnLtd and funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and the South West Academic Health Science Network.
Rosina, a resident of Wells, writes a column in the local newspaper about loneliness and wellbeing. She is passionate about developing a supportive community of people who will share their wisdom and knowledge with their peers and develop a 'sense of self', something she says can often be lacking in older people. A grant of £2,500 will help her set up a friendship group that will ultimately become self sustaining by making craft items to sell at local markets.
If you have the talent and determination to come up with a new, sustainable venture to meet the needs and aspirations of an ageing population you too may be eligible to apply for a small grant. To find out more information, click here.
