WCS Pickford Trust Fund
Grant details
Grant size: | Up to £2,000 |
Typical grant: | £1,000 |
Who is it for?Local groups that operate within the parish of South Barrow.
What is it for?To run activities, services or facilities that benefit individuals living in South Barrow.
The WCS Pickford Trust Fund awards grants towards the cost of providing activities, services or facilities delivered by voluntary groups that benefit individuals living in South Barrow.
This means you can ask us for money if you work or volunteer for a group that benefits the community in South Barrow. For example, you could be running a:
- village hall or community centre
- park, play area or green space
- sports club
- community shop
- art, culture, heritage or friendship group
- community transport scheme.
We’re keen that people from across the South Barrow community can take part in the things we fund. We’d also like to see that the people who make decisions in your group represent the community they serve.
Who can apply?
We can only consider your group for a grant from this funding programme if:
- what you are asking money for directly benefits individuals living in South Barrow
- your group meets our minimum standards.
Our minimum standards cover things like:
- the types of groups we can give a grant to and how we expect them to be run
- how we expect those groups to manage their finances
- how those groups keep people safe.
All of our minimum standards are on our FAQ page, where you can also find lots of information about applying for funding.
You can also use our eligibility checker which will help you understand if you can apply for a grant from us.
When do we have to apply?
We expect to open this Fund once per year.
In 2025 you need to apply by 5pm, Monday 30 June.
How likely are we to get a grant?
Sadly, we can’t provide funding to every group that applies to us.
This year we have around £6,000 to give out from the Fund. We’re usually unable to support every application we receive.
We’re more likely to give you some money if your group:
- is based in South Barrow
- can demonstrate that individuals living in South Barrow support the request.
How are decisions made?
Your application will be assessed by one of our team. They’ll read through what you’ve written, look at your supporting documents, and check places like the Charity Commission and your website. We may contact you if we have any questions.
A recommendation will usually then be made, and a panel will make the final decision.
