A warm welcome to our new Trustee, James Shakespeare

We’re delighted to welcome James Shakespeare as the newest member of our Board of Trustees. James brings a wealth of experience in digital, tech and creativity, along with a deep commitment to supporting young people across Somerset.

James is a multi-award-winning digital entrepreneur and creative based near Glastonbury, where he was raised and educated. With over 25 years’ experience building impactful tech ventures across the South West, James now leads initiatives that support young people, boost regional innovation and strengthen community resilience within the county. His expertise will help guide our work as we continue to grow our impact and reach across Somerset.

James said: “I’m incredibly proud to be joining Somerset Community Foundation. Somerset has given me so much, and I’m excited to help create more opportunities for the people of our county. I’m especially passionate about supporting our young people to thrive, innovate, and shape a stronger, more connected future for Somerset.”
