Boules tournament raises £3,500 for Somerset communities

Wind, rain and the occasional clap of thunder couldn’t dampen the fun at this year’s Summerfield Boules Tournament. Together, the teams raised a fantastic £3,500 to support good causes across Somerset.
Our CEO, Justin Sargent, and Senior Fundraising Manager, Fiona Foster, joined more than 150 guests and 40 teams at Taunton Deane Cricket Club for a day of friendly competition. The annual tournament, now in its 14th year, is organised by Taunton-based developers Summerfield and raises money for the Summerfield Force for Good Fund, which we’re proud to manage.
Thanks to generous contributions from all the teams – totalling just over £3,000 – and a top-up from Summerfield, the final amount reached £3,500. These funds will help us continue building strong, vibrant communities across Somerset.
We’re incredibly grateful to Summerfield for their long-standing partnership, now in its 23rd year. Summerfield Developments made our first-ever endowment donation – a key milestone that our CEO Justin Sargent reflects on in his blog post from earlier this year.
The tournament is a great example of local people and businesses coming together to create real and lasting change in Somerset.
If you’re looking for a way to give with others to achieve greater impact, consider a donation to one of our Collective Giving Funds or visit our giving page for more ways to donate to us.
